Long overdue update, but bear with me.
The next piece I am working on is a collection of short stories, mostly in the horror and science fiction genres. I am hoping this will be out in early 2024.
I had intended to clarify more of what was going on in the fall, but the tragedy in Lewiston struck a little close to home, along with personal milestones for our family, and every time I sat down to try and write an update I didn’t feel I had anything meaningful or valuable to say; so I didn’t say anything at all.
Now that others have done so much more for the people of Lewiston and the excruciatingly slow process of healing has been moving forward, it doesn’t feel so self-indulgent to talk about what is going on with my writing.
The website should be undergoing some updates in the next few days to a week, including more direct contact access and fixing the links in the store section. Additionally, I am planning to post one of the short stories that I am putting in my upcoming collection on the website for people to read as a preview.
This will be a very different work than The Legacy Chronicle series, but a necessary one. In order to complete The Legacy Chronicle, which I believe I am about halfway through, I needed a palate cleanser and a chance to rattle some other ideas out of my brain that weren’t going to make it into the series. It is my intention to write the first draft of book four this summer, though we will see if that is possible.
I haven’t yet determined if I will be going back to conventions to sell my work yet or not. The up front cost of those events makes committing really difficult, because I have had major success at some and really come out in the black and I have also lost money by taking part in them. Of course, getting the series and my name out there helps with exposure, but ultimately I’ve got to make sure I’m not losing money in the pursuit of a fandom.
If you or someone you know manages a convention or book store and would like to have an independent author present, please have them reach out to: trevorhpaul@gmail.com
So, if you would like to help, link the series page on Amazon or direct people to the website. I will still mail signed paperback copies of my work to those who request it via email, so that’s another option to consider for folks who want something personalized.
Watch this space for a new story in the next 7-10 days, and expect updates to become more frequent!
T.H.
